Eldridge Ride Final Plans. OK for anyone to join in at the last minute.
After some discussion the route this year will be down some familiar and maybe a couple of new roads. The trip will start in Leiper's Fork. Decided to head south west in the morning and then ride south east in the afternoon. Hopefully this will keep us from riding directly into the afternoon sun. Weather looks good and getting better.
Also, I have an extra hotel room with 2 beds reserved if anybody needs one. I will release it back to the hotel
Thursday if it is not needed. Let me know.
Pete and Cindy will be leading this years ride as I have unexpected family business that came up today, to take care of out of state. Have great time.
1. 8:00 AM Friday, December 1, Breakfast at Country Boy across from Puckett's in Leipers Fork.
2. 9:00 AM Friday, Clutches out
a. Take Natchez Trace past Collinwood to Alabama, Lauderdale County Road 2 exit to Florence, AL. Last exit before crossing Tennessee River.
b. East on Lauderdale County 2 (last exit before Tennessee River) to downtown Florence, AL
c. South on
Hwy 72/43 across Tenn River to Alt Hwy 72/Hwy 20 and the 72/43 junction. Exxon on right (north west corner) for gas. Arrive about
12:00-12:30.
d. Continue south on Hwy 43 to Russellville, AL. and lunch at Taylor's Restaurant in Russellville on east side of Hwy 43. Taylor's is next to the Best Western behind Al Jays Fish and Chicken. Arrive about 12:30-1 pm.
e. Stay on Hwy 43 headed south and stay left where 43 turns to 13. You will stay on 13 and go through Phil Campbell to Natural Bridge. Keep going southeast and where 43 crosses Hwy 278, 13 turns into Hwy 5.
f. follow Hwy 5 to 18th Avenue NW in Jasper and take a right heading south. This is a little shortcut to Hwy 78.
g. Left onto
Hwy 78/69/118 and the Super 8 is less that 1/2 mile on your right.
With lunch and gas stops should arrive 3:30 to 4:00 PM.
Also, attache is a .KML file you can use for your Garmin. I don't know how to do this but it is attached.
