BMWMCON - Riding

Eldridge Toy Ride December 1 -2, 2017
Douglas Pittman
Hope you will join us.  Weather for ride is looking cool and clear.

The 2017 Eldridge Toy Ride is always the first Saturday in December and for ten years we have had riders from the Nashville area making the two (2) day trek.  This is a one-day charity event in Eldridge, Alabama just west of Jasper, Alabama that takes place on Saturday morning so we ride in Friday.  We leave Friday, December 1, attend the event Saturday December 2, 2017 and return home by Saturday night.

This is a charity ride (501C)  for a children's home with no registration or fees.  Everyone that comes makes a tax deductible personal donation of whatever amount they are comfortable with.

The group from Nashville area rides down on Friday morning and returns home by dark Saturday night.  So we stay Friday night in Jasper, Alabama at the the Super 8 Motel with other riders from around the south. For us and other long distance riders the Home provides a free Friday night meal.  We are picked up at the Super 8 and returned after the meal.  Make your reservations directly with the Jasper Super 8.  Cost around $60 a night for 1 room, 2 beds.

We do back roads so it takes all day.  Will meet for breakfast (place to be determined) with kickstands up at 9:00 am from the restaurant. Everyone should have a full tank.  We will stop for lunch and gas on the way down.

Saturday morning we ride over as a group to the Home, get there early and have easy parking, so we can easily depart after the free lunch.  We are considered the "long distance riders" and they make sure we can leave early to make our trip home.

Would love to have a dozen riders or more with us and so far we have eight (8) signed up.  Come join us for a fun  experience.

Yes, we ride rain, shine or snow but won't go if we have ice.  About half the time it is a good chance to test your winter gear.

Email me directly if you have any questions.
